Annapurna Circuit Trek (18 Days) via Thorong La | Himalaya Nature Treks

18 Days

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is Nepal’s classic grand traverse, circling the Annapurna massif from lush river valleys to high-alpine desert and back to rhododendron forests. After a steady ascent through terraced hills and suspension bridges, you acclimatize in Manang, then cross the iconic Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) to reach the pilgrimage town of Muktinath. From here the trail descends the Kali Gandaki—often described as one of the world’s deepest gorges—toward Marpha’s stone lanes and Tatopani’s hot springs, with an optional sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) for a full Annapurna–Dhaulagiri panorama.

Expect 5–7 hours of walking most days on well-established teahouse routes, with built-in acclimatization stops for comfort and safety. Spring (Mar–May) and autumn (Sep–Nov) offer the clearest skies and most stable weather; winter is quieter but cold at the pass, while the monsoon brings greener hills and occasional afternoon showers. Recent road access can shorten certain sections—jeep shuttles or a Jomsom → Pokhara flight are easy add-ons—so we tailor pacing, side trips, and logistics to match your time, fitness, and goals.
