Dolpo recites at the Northwest corner of Nepal close to Chinese occupied land Tibet. Nestling in the Tibetan plateau, Dolpo is one of the highest inhabited on the earth still strongholds the pre-Buddhist Bon religion as well as Tibetan Buddhism. The rugged and monotonous region Dolpo, in holds the hollow mountains, turquoise lakes, the tremendous verity of flora and fauna. Dolpo is home of magical lake Phoksundo, sacred and holy mountain Shey Gompa and century Buddist monasteries. Dolpo Jomsom trek is one of the most popular but a bit challenging trek of Dolpo region. Dolpo Jomsom trek takes you through the sculpted gorges, ochre gompas, high passes, hamlets blended into the amazing landscape. Dolpo Jomsom trek is a simply glorious trekking of Himalaya.
Dolpo Jomsom trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu along the spectacular views of Himalayan range to Juphal. After safe landing at Juphal, we descend down along the Khas villages Dangibara to Kalagauda and following the Bheri River to Dunai. Further heading to the north following the Suligad river and along the lush vegetation of Phoksundo National Park to an amazing, turquoise and, miraculous color changing Phoksundo lake. From the Phoksundo lake, we follow the northern trail and crossing over the Kangla pass 5350m, a gateway to Upper Dolpo we enter to sacred Shey Gompa and Crystal mountain. Beyond the threatening canyons of Tartang River through the Samling Bon Gompa, we reach Bijer village, across the Neng La pass is another beautiful and legendary valley Nakhong and its villages; Saldang, Nisalgaon and continue to Musi Village. Further encountering Musi La pass 5030m to the Panzang valley’s villages; Simen village and Tinje Village. Again passing Chhoila pass 5051m we get into the trade center, travel junction of Upper Dolpo ‘Dho Tarap valley’. From Dho Tarap to the east passing Jhyarkola pass 5360m and Mola pass 5030m we reach the highest human settlement Chharka village.
Get lost for the three days into the wilderness, climbs through creepy defiles Niwas La 5120m and over the Jungben La (5550m) and Sangda La 5200m we stop at Ghalden. From Ghalden descend down to the Kyalunpa River and crossing suspension bridge via a rocky trail to Sangta village. From Sangta we ascent up to Bhimajung la 4450m and make U –shape loop several times, taking the magnificent views of Upper Mustang, Thorong Peak, Nilgiri, nd Annapurna, finally we plunge to the Kali Gandaki Valley and Jomsom.
