Island Peak Climb (Imja Tse 6,189 m) (20 Days) | With EBC & Kala Patthar

20 Days

Island Peak (Imja Tse, 6,189 m) is the Everest region’s most popular introductory Himalayan climb. This 20-day program combines the classic Everest Base Camp trek with a fully supported Island Peak summit. The route builds acclimatization step-by-step through Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and a dawn hike to Kala Patthar before swinging to Chhukhung and Island Peak Base Camp for skills practice and the summit attempt.

Technically, the climb is moderate for fit trekkers who complete a short glacier skills session: walking in crampons, clipping fixed lines with a jumar, and managing a short steep headwall to gain the summit ridge. Views from the top span Lhotse’s south face, Ama Dablam, Baruntse and the imja valley. Best seasons are Mar–May and Sep–Nov when conditions are most stable. We staff professional climbing Sherpa guides, keep a conservative summit window, and include a contingency day for weather.
