Lower Dolpo is a wild, high-desert corner of western Nepal—home to turquoise Phoksundo Lake, cliff trails, whitewashed villages and living Bon and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. This 15-day program mirrors the most common “short” Lower Dolpo format used by reputable operators: fly Kathmandu → Nepalgunj → Juphal, trek through Tarakot and the broad Dho Tarap valley, then cross the two headline passes—Numa La and Baga La—to descend into Ringmo/Phoksundo and exit via Juphal.
Expect remote, committing travel at altitude with simple infrastructure—hence our camping-first approach backed by a full kitchen crew (we still use local lodges where standards allow). Trails are long but non-technical; the passes demand steady pacing, early starts and good acclimatization. Because Dolpo is restricted, you trek with a licensed guide and special permits; we manage all paperwork including Shey Phoksundo National Park entry. Best seasons are spring (Mar–May) and autumn (Sep–Nov) for crisp skies and stable river levels.
