The Panch Pokhari Trek is a quiet, off-beat journey to the Five Holy Lakes (4,100 m) in Nepal’s Jugal Himal, north-east of Kathmandu. This 12-day format mirrors the most common route: drive to Chautara, hike through terraced mid-hills and rhododendron–pine ridges (Kami Kharka, Pauwa Bas, Hile Bhanjyang) and stage at Nasim Pati before the final push to the lakes. From the shrine-lined shoreline, panoramic views stretch to Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Rolwaling and Langtang ranges.
Expect a camping-first trek with a few simple lodge/homestay nights on the approaches. Trails are non-technical but include steep ascents and sustained ridge walking. Culture runs deep: Tamang villages, mani walls, and—if you time late summer—pilgrim activity around the lakes. Best seasons are spring (Mar–May) and autumn (Sep–Nov) for the clearest skies and firmest paths.
