Yala Peak (5,520 m) is one of Nepal’s most accessible 6,000-class objectives and a superb first Himalayan climb. The route follows the Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa for structured acclimatization, adds a hands-on glacier skills session, then stages at Yala Peak Base Camp for a pre-dawn summit push. The climb is non-technical to moderate depending on seasonal snow, with steady glacier walking, occasional fixed handlines, and an airy summit ridge.
The rewards are huge for the effort: a classic panoramic view of the Langtang Himal, with close-ups of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa and, on very clear days, distant 8,000ers on the horizon. We keep low client-to-guide ratios, set conservative turnaround times, and include a buffer day for weather. Mar–May and Sep–Nov bring the best combination of firm snow, stable weather and crisp visibility. If you’re a fit trekker looking to step into alpine terrain, Yala is the perfect progression.
